Alexander Swygert

July 18, 1938 — January 14, 2019

Mr. Alexander "Alex" Swygert, 80, of Kokomo, passed away on the night of Monday, January 14, 2019.

He attended Strait Gate House of Prayer, where he was a Deacon. Alex retired from Continental Steel after 27 years of service. He attended the Public School Corporations of Pickens, Arkansas and Kokomo, Indiana. He loved watching old black and white movies, especially Westerns. Alex loved studying the bible and attending Church services. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved playing games.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sons, brother and wife.

Alex leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, wife, Mary Lee Swygert; son, Kevin A. Swygert; daughter, Regina Ann Mills, stepdaughter, Denise D. Edmundson; special cousin, Olivia "Suga Pie" Bennett; sisters: Margaret Smith and Isabella Holmes of Saginaw, Michigan; 12 grandchildren, 7, great grandchildren; his beloved Shih Tzu, Man-Man and a host of extended family and friends.

The visitation is Friday, January 25, 2018, 10am - 12pm with the service at 12pm at Strait Gate House of Prayer, 312 E. North Street, Kokomo. Pastor A. Wendell Brown will officiate and Pastor Jack L. Woodard will be the eulogist. The interment will immediately will follow in Crown Point Cemetery.
