Beatrice Marie Hooks, 95, of Kokomo, Indiana, transitioned from labor to reward on May 7, 2018.
She was a member of Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she previously sang in the choir, was part of the ladies auxiliary. She was in the Order of the Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society, the American Legion and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Beatrice retired after several years from Haynes Stellite in Kokomo.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, James Stewart and Lula Shelton; son, Floyd "Sonny" Hooks, Jr.;siblings and ex husband, Floyd Hooks.
Left to cherish her memory are son, Hanson J. Hooks (Sherry); grandchildren: Michael Munson of Bradenton, Florida, Tina Jones (Keith), Rochelle Hooks great grandchildren: Keith, Tyrece, Javona, Shaun, Jasmine, Thaddeus, Keziah, Jenna, Phoenix, Karma, Alex, Nathan, Rachel, Abigail and Jubal; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and wonderful friends.
The visitation is Saturday, May 12, 2018, 10am - 11am, with the Homegoing Celebration at 11am at Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church, 920 N. Apperson Way, Kokomo, Indiana. The interment will immediately follow in Crown Point Cemetery.
