Mr. Darrel L. Patton, age 66, of Kokomo, transitioned Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Patton was born on Oct. 4, 1953, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Robert E. Patton Sr. and Mary Alice Patton.
He was formerly employed by Chrysler and a member of the UAW Local 685. He also was a member of the Carver Community Center and YMCA. He was also a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Patton loved cooking and riding his Schwinn bicycle. He was an avid sports fan, with his favorite team being Indiana University. During his prime, he enjoyed being a photographer and listening to music.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Cedric E. Woodard (Chantae); his daughter, Danielle Dickerson; brothers, Raymond Patton, Robert Patton Jr., and Terry Patton; his sister, Patricia Ann Patton; stepsisters, Robin Pitts and Michelle Pitts; six grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Jay Patton.
Mr. Patton's service is Tuesday, March 17, at noon, with calling from 11 a.m. until time of services at Straight Gate Ministry, 312 E. North St., Kokomo, IN 46901. Pastor Jack Woodard is the eulogist and the Rev. Lionel McNeil will officiate. Mr. Patton will be laid to rest at Crown Point Cemetery. The repass will be held at The Trax Lounge, located at 800 N. Purdum St.
