Mr. David E. Morris, 77, of Indianapolis, transitioned from labor to reward on March 31, 2018.
He was born December 10, 1941 to Dewey M. Morris and Annie B. Doolin. Known for his hard work and social status, David proved that working hard equaled playing hard. He was an exceptional employee of International Harvester/Navistar. He could probably have out produced and maintained each robot at the facility. He built his fortune, life and career by putting in hard, long hours and he had an in depth knowledge of each machine at his workplace.
David made good choices, gave great advice and had a very successful life. He also gave great advice and was very adept using his hands and mind. David enjoyed the fruits of his labor by having an eventful social life. He was happy. He was generous. He was a great friend and entertainer. In other words, he was simply great! He was loved by his family and many friends. While he may not have been perfect, nor ever claimed to be, he will be painfully missed.
David leaves to cherish his memory, children: David Morris of Atlanta, Georgia, Neiko Morris, Ulisha D. Morris (Rev. Dr. Terrance Blakesleay) of Columbia, Tennessee and Elonda Cole of Columbia, Tennessee; sister, Gladys St. Ledger of Morgantown, Kentucky; grandchildren: Keaton Blakesleay, Robert Terrell Blakesleay and Le`Karia Wilkes and a host of extended family and friends.
The visitation is Saturday, April 7, 2018, 9am - 11am, with the Homegoing Celebration at 11am at Life Community A.M.E. Church, 4602 N. College Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. The interment will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
