Mr. George Edward Reece Jr., affectionately known to most as “Edward,” was born December 27, 1956 to the joy of his parents, George Edward Reece Sr. and Emma Todd Reece in Kokomo, Indiana. After graduating from Kokomo High School, Edward enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Hawaii, from where he was honorably discharged.
After discharge from the military, Edward went on to work for Chrysler. While there, he assumed various positions during his tenure that lasted 26 years prior to his well- earned retirement.
George Edward Reece Jr. departed this earthly place and ascended to heavenly reward on April 20, 2024. He was preceded there by his parents, George Sr. and Emma Todd Reece; son, Kennedy Daniel Reece; and siblings, Rosie L. Corbin, Daniel Dale Corbin, Willie Corbin, Joann K. Coleman.
Left to cherish his legacy of love, music and inclusion are his wife, Kirstin Reece; children, George Edward Reece III (Gabrielle), Stephen M. Reece (Melissa), James F. Reece, Lauran E. Reece and Jaylin T. Reece; sisters, Dorothy M. Martin, Elizabeth Ann Wiley, Carolyn Sue Young and Renica Elliott; brother, Anthony Dewayne Reece; 9 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Wayman Chapel AME Church, 920 N Apperson Way, with visitation there from 11 am until time of service. Pastor William J. Gary will serve as Eulogist.
