James Edward Campbell, Sr.

Mr. James Edward Campbell, Sr. 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of October 3, 2019 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville.  Mr. Campbell was a former member of St. John AME Church of Indianapolis, and was an American Legion - Anchorage- Lifetime Member.  He enjoyed camping, reading, and watching old movies.  He was also a business owner of Metro Express out of Anchorage, Alaska and was a computer consultant. 

He was proud to be a veteran of the United States Army, receiving many commendations and service medals, including the Republic Vietnam Campaign medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, AR AV Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, and many others.

He leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, his son, James Campbell, Jr.; daughter Laraine Rene' Wheeler (Andre' Washington); brothers George Campbell (Irma), Frank Campbell (Bessie), Ernest Campbell, and William Campbell (Brenda), seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
