His name was chosen when his mother, Rosa A. Scott opened the Bible to the Book of Jeremiah. Mr. Jeremiah Scott was born on January 12, 1946 in Maxeys, Georgia.
Jerry moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1951. Jerry (at a young age) professed a hope in Christ and was baptized by Rev. L.L. Smith at Union Baptist Church (West Indianapolis). Jerry served the Lord by singing in the Choir.
He attended Indianapolis Public School William Penn #49 and graduated from George Washington High School, Class of 1964.
Jerry retired on disability from RCA in 1969. He received his Bachelor of Science from Indiana University, Kelly School of Business on May 10, 1979.

On September 12, 1993, he was united in holy matrimony to April D. Bell. Together they shared 25 years of blessful marriage. April had met her rock, her best friend, and wonderful husband in Jeremiah Scott.
Jerry lived a very active life. Besides travelling to family reunions yearly, he held memberships in the Men’s Ministry, Men’s Choir, Prayer Warriors, Sages, Neal-Marshall Alumni Association and W.I. Roots.
