Deacon Rufus Marshall Edwards

Deacon Rufus Marshall Edwards, age 66 of Indianapolis, received his wings on November 13, 2019.  Deacon Rufus Edwards was a member and Deacon at One Way Apostolic Church where he also served on the Transportation committee.  He was well known for assisting other ministries throughout the city of Indianapolis.  He was also employed at St. Vincent Hospital for 42 years.  Deacon Edwards loved spending time with his family.  He was a generous person and never met a stranger.

He leaves a loving family to cherish his memory, including: his son, Rufus Edwards; daughters, Michelle Miller (Rodney), Laura Dobson, (Maurice), Talmeaka Johnson, and Kimberly A. Canada, (Michael); brother, Donald B. Edwards, Sr. (Helen); sisters, Jamila Phillips, (George), and Estell McAllisters; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 am with calling from 9:00 am until time of services at the Greater One Way Apostolic Church, 5840 E. 16th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46218.  Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery.  Floral tributes may be delivered to the church beginning one hour prior to time of calling.
