Miss Stephanie Y. "Beanie" Woodruff, 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana, transitioned from labor to reward at 4:45pm on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
Beanie, as she was affectionately and lovingly called, was a jewel to her family and friends. She attended Indianapolis Public School #29 and the Cold Spring School. She was an active member of St. John A.M.E. Church, where she also loved serving on the Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nina Woodruff-Stephens and Robert Allen; great grandparents, George & Elizabeth Driver; grandparents, Ollie & Elizabeth Woodruff; aunt, Gwendolyn Woodruff; uncle, Norman Woodruff; brother, Brian Keith Stephens; great aunts: Rachel Black, Georgia B. Conwell, Rebecca M. Anderson, Virginia A. Denning, Kanzetta Bernard, Dr. Robinetta Driver and great uncle, Vernon Driver.
Beanie leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, loving brothers: Darren D. Stephens and Cortland D. Stephens of Kirkland, Washington; aunt, Anita Woodruff; some of her many, many, many cousins: Kerry Conwell (Patricia), Jerry "Bay Bay" Conwell (Deborah) of O’Fallon, MO, Trina Conwell, Carla Conwell, Todd McKinney (Sharletta) of Atlanta, GA, Trevor Bradley, DeAnna Woodruff, Michelle Woodruff, Derrick Woodruff (Lisa), Elizabeth Driver, Virginia Driver, Pauline Eans, Brian Driver, Richard Black, II (Marsha), Rose Chavis, Roxanne Black, Rhonda Black Hagen (Mark), Robyn K. Black, Cheryl Beaven, Damon Beaven, Jeffery Briggs, Terri B. Cox (Fred), Ruthann Jones (Ron), Dr. Bruce Hillman (Sharon) of Merrillville, IN, Colter Hillman (Charlene), Pam Pitcher (Don) of Carson, CA, Andrea Smalls and Sean Smalls of Long Beach, CA and a WHOLE lot more that will probably be added; lifelong friends, Linda "Boo" Allen, Alma Jo Vaughn, Vita Woodson and Marilyn Baker; and a host and WHOLE lot of other cousins, extended family and friends.
The visitation is Saturday, April 20, 2019, 9am - 11am with the Homegoing Celebration commencing promptly at 11am, with the closing and sealing of the casket. The entombment will immediately follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
*All floral and memorial tributes must be delivered to the Church on Saturday after 8am.
