Mr. William "Tommy" Stevenson was born in Williamson County, Tennessee on November 28, 1936, the son of the late Reverend Robert Samuel Stevenson and Mamie Bryant Solomon.
Prior to moving to Kokomo, he served in the United States Army, In 1962 he married the love of his life, Dorothy M. Stevenson. William accepted Christ at an early age. He was an active member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church, Kokomo, Indiana.
William retired from Chrysler Corporation as a Tool Engineer with 48 years of service. William was also a well known mechanic with years of experience repairing cars. He enjoyed serving the Lord as a Deacon, a member of the Trustee Board, Senior Usher Board and was the founder of the Youth Summer Job Program. William provided his expertise in the maintenance department at Second Missionary Baptist Church. William had an excellent work ethic and was a devoted provider for his family.
William T. Stevenson went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the age of 81. His parents, brothers, James Stevenson and Willie R. Stevenson preceded him in death. William leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Dorothy M. Stevenson of Kokomo, Indiana and son, Darzell Stevenson (Mary) of Fishers, Indiana; two sisters, Dr. Willodean Burton (David) of Cedar Hill, Tennessee and Fannie Boone of Nashville, Tennessee; two brothers, George R. Stevenson of Kokomo, Indiana and Michael Stevenson (Phyllis) of Russellville, Kentucky; one grandson, Xavier D. Stevenson of Concord, California and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The visitation is Saturday, August 11, 2018, 9am - 11am, with the Homegoing at 11am at Second Missionary Baptist Church, Kokomo, Indiana. Entombment in Sunset Memory Gardens.
