Mr. Willis "Beannie" Wright, 83, of Indianapolis, was called from labor to reward Monday, July 8, 2019. He was a native of Inverness, Mississippi, born October 22, 1935. Mr. Willis was retired from G.A.T.K. Contract Carriers. He had dedicated his life's work to being a semi-truck driver with more than 45 years without ever experiencing an accident. "Beannie" was an avid fisherman and there was nothing the he couldn't or wouldn't fix for family or neighborhood friends. He loved spending time with his family. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Shirley D. Phillips-Wright; Children born to 1st union: Ronald "Tony", Willis, Jr., Doris, Judith "Annette", and Christina "Chrissy"; Children: James, Alesha, and Tammie; Guardian of David, Demetrick, Jessica, Alesha, and Melissa; Brother: A.W. Wright; Sisters: Alice Medley and Gussie Smith, 33 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 49 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Wright will be Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 12:00 noon with calling from 10:00 am until time of services at Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 519 E. 23rd Street Indianapolis, Indiana 46205. Burial will be in New Crown Cemetery. Floral tributes may be delivered to the church beginning one hour prior to time of calling.
